AVON DESCENT

AVON DESCENT

  • Johannah Street North Fremantle, WA, 6159 Australia (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Avon Challenge is held in conjunction with the Avon Descent, an event which draws competitors from all over the world.

The Challenge is held on the Swan River, over the last 16 kilometres of the Avon Descent course.

Winter rains ensure a fast-flowing river with strong currents to challenge Sweeps as they choose the best course for the crew. As with all long races it’s a timed event and crews are racing against the clock as they paddle hard to overtake other boats and to finish with a strong burst of power.

It’s a fun, competitive day finishing at Riverside Gardens, Bayswater where we enjoy a party atmosphere.
