Training

Based opposite the Left Bank Hotel in North Fremantle we have a beautiful location for our club house and training. We do most of our training in the idyllic Rocky Bay area where the waters are calm. We often see dolphins and on the occasion a seal or two playing in the water.

IOD provide up to 3 training sessions each week. Paddlers aim to arrive 15 mins before the session starts to help organise equipment and to take the boat to the water. The Coach leads us through a land warm up, then positions Paddlers in the boat. The Sweep (the person steering the boat) controls the boat while Coach directs the program. We are on the water for about an hour working on technique, drills, race plans and endurance work. We finish up with a recovery paddle and stretch.

  • Tuesday 6pm-7.30pm

  • Thursday 6pm-7:30pm

  • Sunday 8am-9:30am

Off Season

  • Thursday 6pm-7:30pm

  • Sunday 8am-9:30am

On Sundays we often go somewhere local for coffee and/or breakfast afterwards.
